Some time ago, when I made a Hubpage about corsetmaking secrets, someone asked me about binding, specifically binding the corners. I’m here today to keep my promise that I’d do a video tutorial. There’s a second video there too, which shows that final tip in more detail.
Next time I do this, I promise to get into doing corners at an angle.
* Props to Demi for camera skills – she says the blurring was deliberate, and she’s available if Tarantino calls.
Ack! It appears that most of the links, except the one to the blog, are broken! I keep getting a “blah/foo/bar not found on this server” in addition to a 404 error. This includes the “contact” link, which is why I’m commenting here. Hope it gets fixed soon!
Thank you so much for this. I just finished a corset and had that problem on my corners, so I’ll know how to do it better on the next one.
Can you do one on going around the tabs at the bottoms? Those just killed me, and they look like c**p.
Thank you!
I’m so glad it helped, Val! I’m making a pair of 18th century stays right now that have those tabs at the bottom – they’re black so it remains to be seen how the video comes out, but assuming all goes well, I’ll have a video for you on that soon!
Best wishes, Cathy
